The History of

Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic care has been passed down from ancient health care practices. In fact, it’s been around for many centuries.

Through time, chiropractic methods, techniques, and applications have continually evolved and improved. And despite misconstrued information regarding the practice of chiropractic care, it’s become a highly regarded and respected branch of medicine and health. In particular, the last hundred years have given way to scientific backing through various studies and research. Chiropractic care has shown to be very effective, especially when it comes to achieving a higher state of health and wellness.

At Boundless Chiropractic, we are proud to offer a brief look through time into chiropractic chiropractic care to the Henderson, NV and Las Vegas, NV communities.

A Brief History of Chiropractic Science

The first reported and great leap forward in scientific chiropractic use happened in 1895. Dr. D. D. Palmer was the first person to define spinal misalignment, also known as vertebral subluxation, in scientific terminology. Further, he was the first person to deliver a chiropractic adjustment, correcting the patient’s condition. Dr. Palmer recognized how spinal pressure contributed to misalignment.

From there and over the next decades, Dr. Palmer’s son and daughter-in-law continued to research and refine chiropractic care and their methods. This resulted in the establishment of the Palmer School of Chiropractic. Today, this school is the leading research institution for scientific approaches to chiropractic care.

Later Advancements

Since the opening of the Palmer school’s doors, many other institutions have opened across the globe. Each facility has contributed to further advancements in new methods, approaches, and techniques regarding chiropractic practice. And new methods and approaches continue to be developed and refined. Technology has further given way to more effective and safe diagnostic tools and improved care for spinal subluxations. This field continues to expand with a countless number of people experiencing the direct benefits of chiropractic care on their overall health and wellness.
